Bill Gates

                                               Management style

From Microsoft's founding in 1975 until 2006, Gates had primary responsibility for the company's product strategy. He aggressively broadened the company's range of products, and wherever Microsoft achieved a dominant position he vigorously defended it. He gained a reputation for being distant to others; as early as 1981 an industry executive complained in public that "Gates is notorious for not being reachable by phone and for not returning phone calls."Another executive recalled that after he showed Gates a game and defeated him 35 of 37 times, when they met again a month later Gates "won or tied every game. He had studied the game until he solved it. That is a competitor."

As an executive, Gates met regularly with Microsoft's senior managers and program managers. Firsthand accounts of these meetings describe him as verbally combative, berating managers for perceived holes in their business strategies or proposals that placed the company's long-term interests at risk.
He often interrupted presentations with such comments as, "That's the stupidest thing I've ever heard!" and, "Why don't you just give up your opttion and join the Peace Corps ?"The target of his outburst then had to defend the proposal in detail until, hopefully, Gates was fully convinced. When subordinates appeared to be procrastinating, he was known to remark sarcastically, "I'll do it over the weekend."

Gates's role at Microsoft for most of its history was primarily a management and executive role. However, he was an active software developer in the early years, particularly on the company's  programming language products. He has not officially been on a development team since working on the TRS-80 Model 100 ,but wrote code as late as 1989 that shipped in the company's products. On June 15, 2006, Gates announced that he would transition out of his day-to-day role over the next two years to dedicate more time to philanthropy. He divided his responsibilities between two successors, placing Ray Ozzie  in charge of day-to-day management and Craig Mundie  in charge of long-term product strategy

Mushtaq A Subhani
SHARJAH: Pakistan did a miracle as they successfully chased a difficult target to win the third and final Test and leveled the series 1-1 here at the Sharjah Cricket Stadium on Monday.
Chasing 302, Pakistan completed their five-wicket thrilling win, when captain Misbah-ul-Haq took a single, with nine balls to spare on the fifth and final day of the match.
This was Pakistan’s second best chase in Test cricket, behind the 315-run target they chased against Australia at Karachi in 1994.
However, Azhar Ali was the main architect of the historic victory, scoring a brilliant century while Misbah made a fine fifty after Sarfraz Ahmed contributed a useful 48 off 46 balls with four fours and a six.
Azhar Ali made 103 off 137 balls, his fifth hundred in Test cricket. He hit only six fours in a 238-minute stay at the crease.
He was involved in two big successive partnerships – first with Sarfraz for a rapid 89-run fourth wicket stand and then with Misbah for a 109-run fifth wicket partnership.
He was out caught behind off pace bowler Suranga Lakmal in the 57th over when Pakistan were just seven runs away from their memorable victory.
Misbah remained not out on 68, an aggressive innings from 72 balls with four boundaries while Asad Shafiq was on one.

Earlier, Sri Lanka were all out for 214 just before lunch as captain Angelo Mathews (31) and Prasanna Jayawardene (49) added 62 for the sixth wicket partnership.
Left-arm spinner Abdul Rehman captured four wickets for 56 while off-spinner Saeed Ajmal and pace bowler Mohammad Talha bagged three wickets each for 53 and 65, respectively.
Pakistan began the chase, an uphill task, with Khurram Manzoor and Ahmed Shehzad made 21 each and Younis Khan hit 29 before Sarfraz Ahmed joined Azhar Ali at 97-3.
Azhar Ali was adjudged the Man-of-the-Match for his terrific century while Mathews was declared the Man-of-the-Series for his 412 runs in three Tests. The winning trophy was shared by both teams for playing a drawn Test series.

Sri Lanka had won the second Test in Dubai by nine wickets while the first Test ended in a draw in Abu Dhabi.

Some scientists decided to do the following experiments on a dog.
For the first experiment, they cut one of the dog's legs off, then they told the dog to walk. The dog got up and walked, so they they learned that a dog could walk with just three legs.

For the second experiment, they cut off a second leg from the dog, then they told the dog once more to walk. The dog was still able to walk with only two legs.

For the third experiment, they cut off yet another leg from the dog and once more they told the dog to walk. However, the dog wasn't able to walk with only one leg.

As a result of these three experiments, the scientists wrote in their final report that the dog had lost it's hearing after having three legs cut off
