world record made by pakistan

LAHORE: Pakistan on Saturday for a second time set a record of forming the largest human flag with 29,040 students at the National Hockey Stadium in Lahore, Express News reported.

Pakistan had first set the record in October 2012 when 24,200 people came together to break the record held by Hong Kong.
Saturday’s record was recognised by the Guinness Book of World Records.
Last year, Bangladesh broke Pakistan’s record after over 27,000 people came together to form the Bangladeshi flag.

The record attempts are part of the Punjab Youth Festival.
Punjab Sports Board Director General Usman Anwar said, “Volunteers have been assigned duties for the world record events.”
Minister for Education and Sports Rana Mashhood Ahmed Khan said on Friday that they aimed to break a number of records.
“The youth will try to set as many as 100 world records,” he said.
The minister said 150,000 people would also attempt the record for the national anthem on February 19.

Quaid e Azam

                                                      worked as Barrister

Aged twenty, Jinnah began his practice in Bombay, the only Muslim barrister in the city. English had become his principal language and would remain so throughout his life. His first three years in the law, from 1897 to 1900, brought him few briefs. His first step towards a brighter career occurred when the acting  Advocate General of Bombay, John Molesworth MacPherson, invited Jinnah to work from his chambers. In 1900, P. H. Dastoor, a Bombay presidency magistrate , left the post temporarily and Jinnah succeeded in getting the interim position. After his six-month appointment period, Jinnah was offered a permanent position on a 1,500 rupee per month salary. Jinnah politely declined the offer, stating that he planned to earn 1,500 rupees a day—a huge sum at that time—which he eventually did.Nevertheless, as Governor-General of Pakistan , he would refuse to accept a large salary, fixing it at 1 rupee  per month.

As a lawyer, Jinnah gained fame for his skilled handling of the 1907 " Caucus Case". This controversy arose out of Bombay municipal elections, which Indians alleged were rigged by a "caucus" of Europeans to keep Sir Pherozeshah Mehta out of the council. Jinnah gained great esteem from leading the case for Sir Pherozeshah, himself a noted barrister. Although Jinnah did not win the Caucus Case, he posted a successful record, becoming well known for his advocacy and legal logic. In 1908, his factional foe in the Indian National Congress,Bal Gangadhar Tilak , was arrested for sedition. Before Tilak unsuccessfully represented himself at trial, he engaged Jinnah in an attempt to secure his release on bail. Jinnah did not succeed, but obtained an acquittal for Tilak when he was charged with sedition again in 1916.
One of Jinnah's fellow barristers from the Bombay High Court remembered that "Jinnah's faith in himself was incredible"; he recalled that on being admonished by a judge with "Mr. Jinnah, remember that you are not addressing a third-class magistrate" Jinnah shot back "My Lord, allow me to warn you that you are not addressing a third-class pleader." Another of his fellow barristers described him:
He was what God made him, a great pleader. He had a sixth sense: he could see around corners. That is where his talents lay ... he was a very clear thinker ... But he drove his points home—points chosen with exquisite selection—slow delivery, word by word

Foam 1

Just as the term suggests,3D printing is the technology that could forge your digital design into a solid real-life product. It’s nothing new for the advanced mechanical industry, but a personal 3D printer is definitely a revolutionary idea.
Everybody can create their own physical product based on their custom design, and no approval needed from any giant manufacturer! Even the James Bond’s Aston Martin which was crashed in the movie was a 3D printed  product!
Foam 1 is one such personal 3D printer which can be yours at just $2799. It may sound like a high price but to have the luxury of getting producing your own prototypes, that’s a reaonable price.
Imagine a future where every individual professional has the capability to mass produce their own creative physical products without limitation. This is the future where personal productivity and creativity are maximized.

Oculus Rift

Virtual Reality gaming is here in the form of Oculus Rift. This history-defining 3D headset lets you mentally feel that you are actually inside a video game . In the Rift’s virtual world, you could turn your head around with ultra-low latency to view the world in high resolution display.
There are premium products in the market that can do the same, but Rift wants you to enjoy the experience at only $300, and the package even comes as a development kit. This is the beginning of the revolution for next-generation gaming
The timing is perfect as the world is currently bombarded with the virtual reality topic that could also be attributed to Sword Art Online, the anime  series featuring the characters playing games in an entirely virtual world. While we’re getting there, it could take a few more years to reach that level of realism. Oculus Rift is our first step

interesting

Eye tracking has been actively discussed by technology enthusiasts throughout these years, but it’s really challenging to implement. But Eye Tribe actually did this. They successfully created the technology to allow you to control your tablet, play flight simulator, and even slice fruits in Fruit Ninja only with your eye movements.
It’s basically taking the common eye-tracking technology and combining it with a front-facing camera plus some serious computer-vision algorithm, and voila, fruit slicing done with the eyes! A live demo was done in LeWeb this year and we may actually be able to see it in in action in mobile devices in 2013.
Currently the company is still seeking partnership to bring this sci-fi tech into the consumer market but you and I know that this product is simply too awesome to fail.

Augmented Reality has already gotten into our life in the forms of simulated experiment and education app, but Google is taking it several steps higher with Google Glass .Theoretically, with Google Glass, you are able to view  social media  feeds, text, Google Maps, as well as navigate with GPS and take photos. You will also get the latest updates while you are on the ground.
It’s truly what we called vision, and it’s absolutely possible given the fact that the Google’s co-founder, Sergey Brin has demo'ed the glass  with skydivers and creatives. Currently the device is only available to some developers with the price tag of $1500, but expect other tech companies trying it out and building an affordable consumer version

Valentine's Day

In Pakistan the concept of Valentine's Day was introduced into Pakistan during the late 1990s with special TV and radio programs. The Jamaat-e-Islami political party has called for the banning of Valentine's Day celebration. Despite this, the celebration is becoming popular among urban youth and the florists expect to sell a great amount of flowers, especially red roses. The case is the same with card publishers. However, the public at large still considers Valentine's Day to be opposed to Pakistani culture and Islamic teachings.

where In Saudi Arabia, in 2002 and 2008, religious police banned the sale of all Valentine's Day items, telling shop workers to remove any red items, because the day is considered a Christian holiday. This ban has created a black market for roses and wrapping paper. In 2012 the religious police arrested more than 140 Muslims for celebrating the holiday, and confiscated all red roses from flower shops. Muslims are not allowed to celebrate the holiday, and non-Muslims can celebrate only behind closed doors

Breakthrough technique tortures normal cells with acid to create cheap stem cells

Its not just Hollywood that needs stem cells. Anyone alive today can potentially benefit from therapies now in our medical arsenal. For diseases like age-related macular degeneration, skin cells can be harvested from a patient and coaxed through complex chemical treatments into a form that can be injected into the eye to repair it. The problem is that even when these protocols work, they still take over 10 months, and are also very expensive. A series of papers just published in Nature describes a simple procedure for shocking cells back into an embryonic state where they can be quickly retrained to become virtually any cell type in the body.

Engineers have applied unmatched imaginative power to bend and crumple our most powerful hardware to fit entirely in or around an eye. While these devices are often able to restore some semblance of vision, they still leave much to be desired. Meanwhile, biologists have been slowly hammering away at techniques to reprogram cells to either replace lost tissue, or nourish damaged tissue back to a state of health. While the engineer can understand everything about the tools they use, the biologist is left to fumble with tiny black boxes, each a million components strong and too small to ever really know. What the new research here has done is provide a special shake, if you will, that blanks a cell back to a pristine state.
